Each year, spring marks the commencement of the cotton growing season in Faiyum, Egypt where our cotton is grown.

To kick off the season, our team in Egypt distributes yearly subsidies to farmers, providing fertilizer and agricultural guidance to lower operating costs and increase yields.

Our subsidies and guaranteed pricing model ensures that our farming partners earn a consistent living wage, even during challenging seasons.

After subsidy distribution decisions are made, farmers claim their subsidies with a valid government ID, often using fingerprints instead of signatures as many of them have never had access to learn how to write. Each year marks the renewal of our commitment, strengthening the bond with our farming partners.

By August, the season draws to a close, and Kotn completes the collaboration cycle by purchasing cotton directly from our farming partners.

From there, our cotton undergoes various processes before it's crafted into the durable garments you see in stores. Each piece not only reflects quality craftsmanship but also honours the people who make them and the places they're made.
